The arrow indicates the direction of the reaction, signifying that the reactants are converted into the products.

Key components of a reaction equation include chemical formulas, which represent the elements and their proportions in each substance. For example, H₂O represents water, composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Coefficients are numbers placed in front of chemical formulas to balance the equation, ensuring that the number of atoms of each element is the same on both sides of the arrow.
