Radioulnar refers to the anatomical relationship between the radius and the ulna, the two long bones that make up the forearm. The radius is located on the thumb side of the forearm, while the ulna is on the pinky finger side. These two bones articulate with each other at both the elbow and the wrist, forming the proximal and distal radioulnar joints, respectively.

The radioulnar joints are crucial for pronation and supination, the movements that turn the palm downwards and upwards, respectively. The proximal radioulnar joint, located near the elbow, allows the head of the radius to pivot within a notch on the ulna. The distal radioulnar joint, near the wrist, involves a similar articulation where the head of the ulna articulates with a notch on the radius. The interosseous membrane, a strong band of fibrous tissue, also connects the shafts of the radius and ulna, further stabilizing the forearm and transmitting forces between the two bones. Injuries to the radioulnar joints can significantly impair forearm function, affecting a wide range of everyday activities.
