Postalveolaariset refers to a group of speech sounds in phonetics. These sounds are produced with the tongue blade, or lamina, positioned just behind the alveolar ridge. The alveolar ridge is the bumpy area on the roof of the mouth just behind the upper front teeth. Postalveolar sounds are made with the tongue tip or blade slightly further back in the mouth than true alveolar sounds.
