Podol, also known as Podole or Podillia, is a historical and geographical region located in western Ukraine and a small part of eastern Moldova. It is situated in the fertile plains along the Dniester River. The region has a rich and complex history, having been inhabited by various peoples over millennia, including Scythians, Sarmatians, Slavs, and later influenced by Lithuanian, Polish, and Russian rule.
