Perikardiumissa, which translates to "in the pericardium" in Finnish, refers to the anatomical location of the pericardium, a double-layered sac that encloses the heart and the roots of the great vessels. This sac is composed of two layers: the outer fibrous pericardium and the inner serous pericardium. The serous pericardium itself is further divided into a parietal layer, fused to the fibrous pericardium, and a visceral layer, which directly covers the surface of the heart, also known as the epicardium.
