penumbrisenä
Penumbrisenä is a term that refers to the partial shadow cast during an eclipse. Specifically, it is the region of shadow where the light source is only partially blocked by the occulting body. In the context of solar eclipses, the penumbra is the area on Earth where the Moon obscures only a portion of the Sun. Observers within the penumbra will see a partial solar eclipse. During a lunar eclipse, the penumbra is the lighter, outer part of the Earth's shadow, where the Earth blocks only a fraction of the Sun's light from reaching the Moon. If a lunar eclipse only enters this region, it is called a penumbral lunar eclipse. The intensity of the shadow within the penumbra varies from the edge, where the obstruction is minimal, to the point closest to the umbra, the darkest part of the shadow.
