The oropharynx is the part of the throat behind the oral cavity. It extends from the soft palate superiorly to the level of the hyoid bone inferiorly. This region is a crucial passageway for both air and food. Anatomically, it is bordered anteriorly by the palatoglossal arches and the base of the tongue, and posteriorly by the pharyngeal wall.
