Negativní is a Czech adjective meaning negative in the sense of containing negation, or unfavorable. It is used to describe things that are opposed to positive or affirmative qualities. The word ultimately comes from Latin negativus, passing into Czech through historical Latin and Romance languages.

In mathematics and logic, negativní describes quantities less than zero or statements that negate a proposition. Negative numbers are referred to as negativní čísla; the minus sign indicates the additive inverse of a positive value. In general discussion, negativní denotes opposite or contrary to a stated proposition.

In science and everyday use, negativní describes results indicating absence of a condition, such as negativní výsledek testu. It also appears in physics as negativní náboj (negative charge).
