Lämpö-vaihto-matkia are a Finnish term referring to the practice of heat exchange within the context of sauna culture. This concept primarily describes how heat is transferred and regulated within a sauna environment, particularly in traditional wood-fired saunas. When water, known as "löyly," is thrown onto the hot stones (kiuas), it rapidly vaporizes. This steam, laden with heat, then rises and circulates within the sauna room.
