Lomanmääräytymisvuosi refers to the holiday entitlement year in Finnish employment law. This is the period during which an employee accrues their right to paid annual leave. Typically, the lomanmääräytymisvuosi runs from April 1st of one year to March 31st of the following year. However, the employment contract or collective agreement may specify a different period.

During the lomanmääräytymisvuosi, an employee earns two days of holiday for each full month of employment and two and a half days for each full month of employment if their employment relationship has lasted at least 12 months during the lomanmääräytymisvuosi. For partial months, a holiday entitlement of one day is accrued if the employee has worked at least 14 days in that month.

The period used to determine holiday entitlement is separate from the period in which the holidays are taken. The actual holiday period, often referred to as the "lomakautta," is usually specified in the employment contract or collective agreement and typically falls between May 1st and September 30th. However, parts of the accrued holiday can also be taken outside this period if agreed upon.
