käänteistoimintoa
Käänteistoiminto, in mathematics, refers to a function that "reverses" another function. If a function f maps an input x to an output y, then its inverse function, denoted as f⁻¹, maps y back to x. This means that applying a function and then its inverse, or vice versa, results in the original input. Mathematically, this can be expressed as f⁻¹(f(x)) = x and f(f⁻¹(y)) = y for all x in the domain of f and y in the range of f.
For a function to have an inverse, it must be bijective, meaning it must be both injective
Common examples of inverse functions include addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, and exponentiation and logarithms.
