intralaminärer
Intralaminar refers to something situated or occurring within a lamina. A lamina, in a biological context, is a thin layer or plate. This term is most frequently encountered in neuroanatomy, specifically when discussing the layers of the cerebral cortex. The cerebral cortex is organized into six distinct horizontal layers, also known as laminae, that differ in their cellular composition and connections. Therefore, an intralaminar structure or process would be one located within one of these cortical layers.
Beyond the cerebral cortex, the term intralaminar can be applied to other anatomical structures that exhibit
