Idegplexusok, a Hungarian term, translates to "nerve plexuses" in English. These are complex networks of nerves that arise from the convergence of anterior rami of spinal nerves. Instead of directly innervating the area they originate from, these rami form intricate interwoven structures. Within these plexuses, nerve fibers are rearranged, allowing for redistribution of fibers from multiple spinal nerve segments to supply a single peripheral nerve. This intricate organization ensures that each peripheral nerve contains fibers from several spinal nerve levels, providing a degree of redundancy and resilience. If one spinal nerve is damaged, the muscles and sensory areas it supplies may still receive innervation from the remaining intact nerves within the plexus.

The human body has several major nerve plexuses, including the cervical plexus (supplying the neck and diaphragm), the brachial plexus (supplying the shoulder and arm), the lumbar plexus (supplying the anterior thigh and abdomen), and the sacral plexus (supplying the posterior thigh, leg, and foot).
