etruszk
Etrusk is a term that has been used to refer to members of an ancient civilization that inhabited Etruria, a region of central Italy, roughly corresponding to modern Tuscany, western Umbria, and northern Lazio. The Etruscans, as they are more commonly known, flourished from around the 8th century BCE until their assimilation into the Roman Republic by the 1st century BCE. Their civilization was characterized by a unique language, sophisticated art and architecture, and complex religious practices. Etruscan culture had a significant influence on the early development of Roman civilization, particularly in areas such as religious rituals, alphabet, and urban planning. While much of their written language remains only partially understood, archaeological discoveries have provided considerable insight into their daily lives, social structures, and artistic achievements, including detailed tomb paintings and finely crafted metalwork.
