eemaldumisreaktsiooniks
Elimination reaction, also known as an eemaldumisreaktsioon in Estonian, is a type of chemical reaction where a molecule loses two or more atoms or groups of atoms, typically across adjacent atoms. This process usually results in the formation of a double or triple bond. The most common type of elimination reaction is beta-elimination, where the leaving group is removed from the beta-carbon atom relative to the carbon atom bearing the hydrogen atom that is also removed.
Elimination reactions are often considered the reverse of addition reactions. They are fundamental in organic chemistry
