Eduskuntakäsittely refers to the legislative process in the Finnish Parliament, known as the Eduskunta. This process involves the examination, discussion, and decision-making on proposed laws, or bills, by the members of the Eduskunta. The legislative process in Finland is outlined in the Constitution and further detailed in the Rules of Procedure of the Eduskunta.

The process begins with the introduction of a bill, which can be initiated by a member of the Eduskunta, the Government, or a citizen. Once introduced, the bill is assigned to a committee for preliminary examination. This committee reviews the bill's content, feasibility, and constitutionality, and may propose amendments.

After the committee's work, the bill is presented to the Plenary Session of the Eduskunta for a vote. During this session, members can propose further amendments, and the bill is debated. The final decision on the bill is made through a vote, which requires a majority of the members present and voting.

If the bill is approved, it is sent to the President of Finland for signing into law. If the President does not sign the bill within 30 days, it automatically becomes law. If the bill is rejected, it is returned to the committee for further consideration or discarded.
