Diferenciables is a Spanish term that translates to "differentiable" in English. In mathematics, particularly in calculus, differentiability refers to a function that can be differentiated. A function is differentiable at a point if its derivative exists at that point. Geometrically, this means the graph of the function has a well-defined tangent line at that point, and it is smooth and continuous, without any sharp corners, cusps, or vertical asymptines.

For a function of a single real variable, f(x), to be differentiable at a point x=a, the limit of the difference quotient must exist: lim (h->0) [f(a+h) - f(a)] / h. If this limit exists, it is the derivative of f at a, denoted as f'(a). The existence of a derivative implies that the function is continuous at that point, but the converse is not always true; a continuous function may not be differentiable.

In higher dimensions, for a function mapping from Rn to Rm, differentiability is a more complex concept. A function is differentiable at a point if it can be locally approximated by a linear transformation. This linear transformation is called the Jacobian matrix, and its existence at a point implies continuity at that point. The concept of differentiability is fundamental to many areas of mathematics, physics, engineering, and economics, enabling the study of rates of change and optimization.
