dicoriónicodiamniótico
Dicorionicodiamniotic refers to a specific type of twin pregnancy. In this condition, two fetuses develop within the uterus, each with its own placenta and its own amniotic sac. This means that the two placentas are separate, and the two amniotic sacs do not share a dividing membrane. The term "dicorionic" indicates the presence of two chorions, which are the outer membranes that contribute to placenta formation. "Diamniotic" signifies the presence of two amnions, the inner membranes that enclose the amniotic fluid and the fetus. This type of twin pregnancy arises when two separate eggs are fertilized by two separate sperm, or when a single fertilized egg splits very early in development, before the formation of the chorionic membranes. Dicorionicodiamniotic twins are considered dichorionic diamniotic twins and are the most common form of twin gestation.
