circumscrivere
Circumscrivere is a term used in geometry to describe drawing a figure around another figure. When a polygon is circumscribed about a circle, the circle is inscribed within the polygon. This means that each side of the polygon is tangent to the circle. Conversely, if a circle is circumscribed about a polygon, the polygon is inscribed within the circle, and all vertices of the polygon lie on the circle. The circumcircle is the smallest circle that contains the polygon. The center of the circumcircle is called the circumcenter. In the case of a triangle, the circumcenter is the point where the perpendicular bisectors of the sides intersect. For a regular polygon, the circumcenter is also the center of the polygon. The radius of the circumcircle is known as the circumradius. The concept of circumscribing can also be applied to three-dimensional shapes. For example, a sphere can be circumscribed about a polyhedron if all the vertices of the polyhedron lie on the surface of the sphere.
