Blodkretsloppet, also known as the circulatory system, is a vital organ system in the human body responsible for transporting blood throughout the body. This complex network of blood vessels, powered by the heart, ensures that oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and other essential substances are delivered to all cells and tissues. Simultaneously, it facilitates the removal of waste products such as carbon dioxide.

Arteries carry blood away from the heart, branching into smaller arterioles and then capillaries, where exchange of substances occurs. Veins collect blood from the capillaries, carrying it back to the heart through venules and larger veins. The continuous movement of blood within this system is crucial for maintaining life and overall health.
