Visszaforduló

Visszaforduló is a Hungarian term that functions as both an adjective and a noun, meaning “one that turns back” or “reversing.” It is formed from the prefix vissza- (“back”) and fordul (“to turn”). The word is used to describe actions, objects, or processes that reverse direction or return to a starting point.

In everyday language, visszaforduló describes motions that retrace a path, for example a visszaforduló mozdulat when a person turns around, or a visszaforduló útvonal indicating a route that turns back before continuing. In transportation and engineering contexts, the term appears in phrases such as visszaforduló kanyar to describe a U-turn or hairpin-like bend, and in discussions of turnback facilities that allow trains or vehicles to reverse direction without traveling to the end of a line.

In linguistics or literary usage, visszaforduló can describe reversal motifs or processes that reverse a state or narrative direction, referred to as a visszaforduló motívum in discourse about structure or plot.
