Virgínias is a term that can refer to a few different things, primarily historical regions and modern entities related to the United States. Historically, the term Virginia encompassed a much larger territory than the present-day state. The original English colony of Virginia, established in 1607, was one of the thirteen colonies that eventually formed the United States. This vast colonial territory included much of what is now the mid-Atlantic and southeastern United States, extending westward and southward.
