Valonmurroksesta
Valonmurros is a Finnish term that translates to "light breakage" or "fracture of light." It describes the phenomenon of light bending as it passes from one medium to another with a different refractive index. This bending occurs because the speed of light changes when it enters a new medium. For example, when light travels from air into water, it slows down, causing it to bend towards the normal, an imaginary line perpendicular to the surface. Conversely, when light travels from water to air, it speeds up and bends away from the normal.
The amount of bending is quantified by Snell's Law, which relates the angles of incidence and refraction
