Võlasuhted

Võlasuhted, in Estonian, refers to the legal and economic relationships that arise from debt. At its core, a võlasuhe involves a debtor (võlgnik) who owes an obligation to a creditor (võlausaldaja). This obligation typically involves the payment of a sum of money, but it can also encompass the performance of a service or the delivery of goods.

The creation of a võlasuhe usually stems from an agreement, such as a loan agreement, a contract for goods or services, or even a tortious act that results in financial damage. The terms of the võlasuhe are defined by the underlying agreement and applicable laws, specifying the amount owed, the repayment schedule, interest rates if applicable, and any other conditions.

Key aspects of võlasuhted include the rights and obligations of both parties. The creditor has the right to demand fulfillment of the obligation, while the debtor is obliged to perform it.
