US120

US 120 is a designation that has been applied to two different U.S. Highway routes throughout history, both located in the state of Texas.

The first iteration of U.S. Highway 120 was established in 1926 as part of the original U.S. Highway System. This route began in Amarillo, Texas, and extended eastward to Fort Smith, Arkansas. Its path through Texas largely followed what is now U.S. Highway 60. This designation was later decommissioned and replaced by U.S. Highway 60 in 1930.

The second and current U.S. Highway 120 is a short, spur route located in West Texas. It begins at U.S. Highway 287 near Stratford, Texas, and travels approximately 1.7 miles to the Oklahoma state line, where it continues as State Highway 64. This short segment serves to connect the two state highway systems. Despite its brief length, it remains an officially recognized U.S. Highway. The purpose of this short spur is to provide a direct connection between major highway systems in the region.
