Täysisisaruksikäsitteen
Täysisisaruksikäsitte describes the concept of full siblings in Finnish. Full siblings share both the same biological mother and the same biological father. This is in contrast to half-siblings, who share only one biological parent, either the mother or the father. The genetic material inherited from both parents determines the degree of relatedness between siblings. Full siblings, therefore, have a higher degree of genetic overlap compared to half-siblings. In legal and genealogical contexts, the distinction between full and half-siblings is important for establishing familial relationships, inheritance rights, and understanding genetic inheritance patterns. The term täysisarus literally translates to "full sibling" in English, emphasizing the shared parentage from both sides.
