Sextonloyalists
Sextonloyalists, also known as Sextonites, were a political faction in the United Kingdom during the 19th century. They were named after their leader, Sir Robert Peel, who was the Home Secretary at the time. Peel was known for his strong stance on law and order, and his support for the police and the military. The Sextonloyalists were a conservative group who opposed the growing influence of the working class and the expansion of the franchise. They believed in a strong central government and a limited role for the House of Commons. The Sextonloyalists were a significant force in British politics during the 1830s and 1840s, but their influence declined in the following decades as the political landscape shifted.
