Sekundäärikäämillä

Sekundäärikäämillä is a Finnish term that translates to "secondary coil" in English. It refers to the coil in a transformer that receives energy from the primary coil through electromagnetic induction. Transformers are devices that transfer electrical energy from one circuit to another through magnetic coupling. They consist of at least two coils, the primary coil and the secondary coil, wound around a common magnetic core.

When an alternating current flows through the primary coil, it generates a changing magnetic field in the core. This changing magnetic field then induces an alternating voltage in the secondary coil. The ratio of the number of turns in the secondary coil to the number of turns in the primary coil determines the voltage transformation. If the secondary coil has more turns than the primary, it is a step-up transformer, increasing the voltage. Conversely, if it has fewer turns, it is a step-down transformer, decreasing the voltage.
