Regierungsbezirken
Regierungsbezirk is an administrative division in Germany, roughly equivalent to a government district or administrative region. These districts are a middle tier of administration, existing between the federal states (Bundesländer) and the local districts (Landkreise) or independent cities (kreisfreie Städte). Not all German federal states have Regierungsbezirke. Currently, the states of Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg are divided into these administrative units. Other states have chosen to abolish them or have never established them.
