Referenssiväli, or reference interval, is a range of values that are used as a guide for interpreting medical test results. It is established by measuring a particular substance in a large group of healthy individuals and then calculating the range that encompasses the majority of these results. Typically, the reference interval represents the values found in 95% of the healthy population, meaning that 2.5% of healthy individuals may fall below the lower limit and 2.5% may fall above the upper limit.
