Redoksaktiivsus, also known as redox activity, refers to the ability of a substance to undergo reduction-oxidation (redox) reactions. These reactions involve the transfer of electrons between substances, resulting in changes in their oxidation states. Redox reactions are fundamental in various chemical and biological processes, including respiration, photosynthesis, and corrosion.

The term "redox" is derived from the words "reduction" and "oxidation." Reduction is the gain of electrons, while oxidation is the loss of electrons. In a redox reaction, one substance is reduced (gains electrons) while another is oxidized (loses electrons). The substance that is oxidized is called the reducing agent, and the substance that is reduced is called the oxidizing agent.
