Poikkileikkaustaso

Poikkileikkaustaso, also known as a cross-section plane, is a fundamental concept in geometry and visualization. It refers to an imaginary plane that intersects a three-dimensional object to reveal its internal structure. When this plane cuts through an object, the resulting shape of the intersection is called a cross-section.

In technical drawing and engineering, poikkileikkaustaso is crucial for conveying detailed information about an object's form, dimensions, and material composition. A poikkileikkauskuva, or cross-section drawing, displays the visible features of the object as if it were sliced open.
