Oktyabr
Oktyabr is a town in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located on the left bank of the Kama River, approximately 100 kilometers east of Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan. The town is named after the Russian word for October, reflecting its historical significance as a center for the October Revolution, which took place in 1917. Oktyabr was established in 1917 as a settlement for workers and soldiers involved in the construction of the Kama Reservoir. It was granted town status in 1938. The town is known for its industrial development, particularly in the fields of engineering and metallurgy. It is also home to several cultural and historical sites, including the Oktyabrskoye Uyezd Museum, which showcases the region's history and heritage. Oktyabr has a population of around 10,000 people and is an important administrative and economic center in the Republic of Tatarstan.
