NCBI37
NCBI37 is a reference genome assembly of the human genome, released by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in 2009. It is based on the work of the Human Genome Sequencing Consortium, which completed the first draft of the human genome in 2001. NCBI37 is an updated version of the previous reference genome, NCBI36, and includes improvements in sequence accuracy and annotation. The assembly is based on a combination of whole-genome shotgun sequencing and BAC (bacterial artificial chromosome) sequencing. NCBI37 is widely used in research and clinical settings for gene mapping, disease association studies, and other genomic analyses. However, it is important to note that NCBI37 has been superseded by more recent reference genomes, such as GRCh37 and GRCh38, which offer further improvements in sequence accuracy and annotation.
