Mõõtmisprintsiip refers to the fundamental physical or chemical phenomenon that underlies a particular measurement method. It dictates how a quantity is converted into a readable signal or value. For example, in a mercury thermometer, the mõõtmisprintsiip is the thermal expansion of mercury. As temperature increases, the mercury expands, and its volume change is directly related to the temperature.
