Modellägaren

Modellägaren is a Swedish term that designates a person who owns one or several scale models, prototypes, or miniature representations. The concept is used across hobby, professional, and museum contexts, but it is not a formal title or official role. A modellägare may be a private collector, a hobbyist who builds models, or a professional who retains models for reference, presentation, or archival purposes.

In common usage, modellägaren refers to individuals who collect or construct models of vehicles such as airplanes, ships, cars, or military figures, as well as architectural or urban models used for planning, teaching, or display. Models may be built from kits, scratch-made, or 3D-printed, and they can range from small desk objects to large, detailed dioramas. In professional settings, a modellägare might own prototypes or design models that illustrate concepts, evaluate form and fit, or support marketing and client demonstrations.

Responsibilities of a modellägaren include care and maintenance of the model, proper storage and environmental conditions to prevent damage, and documentation of provenance and specifications.
