Mikrotähtealueet refer to regions within a star where the density and temperature are high enough to initiate and sustain nuclear fusion reactions. These are the core regions of stars where energy is generated through the conversion of lighter elements into heavier ones. For most stars like our Sun, the primary process is the proton-proton chain, where hydrogen nuclei fuse to form helium.
