This encrypted data is sent to the payment processor, which forwards it to the issuing bank (the customer's bank). The issuing bank verifies the funds and authorizes or declines the transaction. The authorization response is sent back through the payment processor to the payment gateway, and finally to the merchant's website, informing them of the transaction's success or failure.
