Lümfivõrgustik, also known as the lymphatic system, is a vital part of the immune system and the circulatory system in vertebrates. It comprises a network of vessels, nodes, and organs that transport lymph throughout the body. Lymph is a clear to white fluid containing white blood cells, which help the body fight infection.

The lymphatic system's primary functions include returning leaked fluid and proteins from the tissues back to the bloodstream, absorbing fats from the digestive system, and playing a crucial role in the immune response. Lymphatic vessels, similar to blood vessels, form a vast network that permeates almost all tissues. Lymph nodes, small bean-shaped structures, act as filters, trapping pathogens, damaged cells, and foreign particles. Major lymphatic organs include the spleen, thymus, tonsils, and bone marrow.

The spleen filters blood and plays a role in immunity. The thymus is essential for the development of T-cells, a type of white blood cell. Tonsils are located in the throat and help trap inhaled or ingested pathogens. Bone marrow produces all immune cells, including lymphocytes. The lymphatic system's continuous circulation of lymph is essential for maintaining fluid balance and defending the body against disease. Disruptions to the lymphatic system can lead to swelling (edema) and increased susceptibility to infections.
