Krutitskiy

Krutitskiy is a historic neighborhood in northeastern Moscow, Russia. It is situated within the Central Administrative Okrug and spans an area of approximately 7.51 square kilometers. The name 'Krutitskiy' originates from the name of the Krutitsy-Washington Cathedral, a historic church complex, which is the main landmark of the area.

The neighborhood is known for its dense population and complex infrastructure, reflecting the region's location near the highway to Serpukhov, Moscow Oblast's administrative center. The Krutitskiy-Butyrsky business district and also a number of parks which cut the area can be seen.

Krutitskiy neighborhood was formed in 1991, when the Soviet government officially established it by uniting several smaller urban and rural settlements. The Russian federal law of December 2006 (Law No. 294-FZ of December 27, 2006) led to a number of neighborhood's territories being disunited from it in 2008. Over time, due to its municipal service provision and associated attention, the historical outline of the neighborhood became less important.

Despite its designation as one of Moscow's administrative districts, Krutitskiy is not for the most part enclosed on all sides and is situated near the Severnoye Butovo District and Pokrovshchikovo-Strenki.
