Kompressorjahutussüsteemid, also known as compression refrigeration systems, are a fundamental technology used for cooling purposes across a wide range of applications. These systems operate on the principle of a thermodynamic cycle that transfers heat from a colder space to a warmer one. The core components of a typical kompressorjahutussüsteem include a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve, and an evaporator. Refrigerant circulates through these components, undergoing phase changes that facilitate heat absorption and rejection.

The compressor is the workhorse of the system, increasing the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant vapor. This high-pressure vapor then flows to the condenser, where it releases heat to the surrounding environment and condenses into a high-pressure liquid. The liquid refrigerant then passes through an expansion valve, which reduces its pressure and temperature significantly. Finally, the cold, low-pressure refrigerant enters the evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the space to be cooled, boiling and turning back into a vapor. This vapor returns to the compressor, and the cycle repeats.
