Kofaktoriteks, also known as cofactors, are essential components that assist enzymes in catalyzing chemical reactions. They can be either organic molecules called coenzymes or inorganic ions. Coenzymes are typically derived from vitamins and are required for the proper functioning of many enzymes. Examples of coenzymes include nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD). Inorganic cofactors, on the other hand, are ions such as magnesium (Mg2+) and zinc (Zn2+), which are necessary for the structural integrity and catalytic activity of enzymes.
