Körperkreislauf

Körperkreislauf refers to the circulatory system in the human body. It is a closed network of blood vessels that transports blood throughout the body. This system is essential for delivering oxygen and nutrients to all cells and tissues and for removing waste products such as carbon dioxide. The Körperkreislauf is divided into two main circuits: the pulmonary circulation and the systemic circulation.

The pulmonary circulation involves the flow of blood between the heart and the lungs. Deoxygenated blood leaves the right ventricle of the heart and travels to the lungs via the pulmonary artery. In the lungs, carbon dioxide is released from the blood, and oxygen is absorbed. Oxygenated blood then returns to the left atrium of the heart through the pulmonary veins.

The systemic circulation is responsible for circulating oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body and returning deoxygenated blood to the heart. Oxygenated blood is pumped from the left ventricle into the aorta, the body's largest artery. From the aorta, blood is distributed to various organs and tissues through a network of arteries, arterioles, and capillaries. After delivering oxygen and nutrients and picking up waste products, the deoxygenated blood flows through venules and veins back to the superior and inferior vena cava, which empty into the right atrium of the heart. The heart acts as a pump, continuously propelling blood through these circuits, ensuring the vital functions of the body are maintained.
