Käyttötoleranssi refers to the acceptable deviation from a specified dimension or characteristic in manufacturing and engineering. It defines the permissible range within which a part or product must fall to be considered functional and interchangeable. These tolerances are crucial for ensuring that components can be assembled correctly and that the final product operates as intended.

Tolerances are typically specified on technical drawings using symbols and numerical values. For example, a dimension might be given as 10.00 ± 0.05 mm, indicating that the actual measurement can be anywhere between 9.95 mm and 10.05 mm. The upper limit is the maximum allowable size, and the lower limit is the minimum allowable size.
