Ischaemickoreperfuzní

During ischaemia, cells are deprived of oxygen and nutrients, leading to cellular damage and dysfunction. If the ischaemic period is prolonged, irreversible cell death, or necrosis, can occur. Upon reperfusion, while vital for re-establishing oxygen and nutrient supply, the return of blood flow can paradoxically exacerbate tissue injury. This reperfusion injury is caused by a complex cascade of events including the generation of reactive oxygen species, inflammation, and activation of various cell death pathways.
