Imperfektivními

Imperfektivními is the instrumental plural form of the Czech adjective “imperfektivní,” meaning “imperfective.” In Czech linguistics it refers to the imperfective aspect of verbs, one of two mutually exclusive aspects used to express the seriality, habituality, or ongoing nature of an action compared with the perfective aspect, which indicates completed or punctual actions. The imperfective is used in contexts such as describing general states, repeating actions, or actions without a specified endpoint. For example, “čítat knihu” (to read a book) in the imperfective focuses on the process of reading, while “přečíst knihu” in the perfective implies the entire reading event completed. Imperfektivní forms are typically formed either by using bare infinitives, present tense forms, or by adding aspectual prefixes that do not imply completion. The choice between imperfective and perfective aspects influences temporal interpretation, aspectual marking in verb conjugation, and the selection of auxiliary verbs such as “být” or “mít” in compound tenses.
