Idiameter

Idiameter is a term that has appeared in various contexts, most notably within the realm of mathematics and engineering. It typically refers to the diameter of a circle or sphere. In geometric terms, the diameter is any straight line segment that passes through the center of the circle or sphere and whose endpoints lie on the circle or sphere. The length of this line segment is also called the diameter. It is twice the length of the radius.

In some specialized applications, "idiameter" might be used to distinguish between different types of diameters or to refer to an internal diameter, as opposed to an external diameter. For instance, when measuring pipes or hollow cylinders, the internal diameter refers to the diameter of the hollow space within, while the external diameter refers to the diameter of the outer surface.
