Hellinginclinering

Hellinginclinering refers to the angle of inclination of a magnetic field. Specifically, it describes the angle between the Earth's magnetic field lines and the horizontal plane. This angle varies depending on the observer's location on the Earth's surface. At the magnetic poles, the magnetic field lines are essentially vertical, resulting in a hellinginclinering of 90 degrees (or -90 degrees at the South Magnetic Pole). At the magnetic equator, the field lines are parallel to the Earth's surface, so the hellinginclinering is 0 degrees. Between the poles and the equator, the hellinginclinering has an intermediate value. This inclination is measured by an instrument called a magnetic dip needle. The hellinginclinering is a fundamental property of the Earth's magnetic field and is used in various scientific and navigational applications, including geological surveys and paleomagnetism.
