HTTPstatuksia, or HTTP status codes, are three-digit numbers returned by a web server in response to a browser's request for a resource. These codes indicate whether a specific HTTP request has been successfully completed. They are a fundamental part of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), the foundation of data communication for the World Wide Web.

Status codes are categorized into five classes. Class 1xx informational responses indicate that the request was received and understood. Class 2xx success responses mean that the request was successfully received, understood, and accepted. Class 3xx redirection responses inform the client that further action needs to be taken to complete the request. Class 4xx client error responses indicate that the client seems to have made an error. Finally, class 5xx server error responses indicate that the server failed to fulfill an apparently valid request.

Commonly encountered status codes include 200 OK, which signifies that the request was successful; 404 Not Found, indicating the requested resource could not be found on the server; and 500 Internal Server Error, which suggests an unexpected condition was encountered by the server. Understanding these codes is crucial for web developers and administrators to diagnose and resolve issues related to web requests and responses. They provide a standardized way to communicate the outcome of a client-server interaction.
