Gerðuberg
Gerðuberg is a prominent cliff face located in the Hnappadalur valley in western Iceland. It is renowned for its exceptionally regular hexagonal basalt columns, which give the cliff a distinctive, almost artificial appearance. These columns are formed by the slow cooling of lava flows, causing them to contract and fracture into these geometric shapes. The cliff is approximately 500 meters long and rises up to 14 meters in height, creating a visually striking natural monument.
The name Gerðuberg translates to "Wall of Gerður," possibly referring to a mythical giantess or a historical
